We encourage all students who are new to yoga to join a 10-week Foundation Level course in order to establish a foundation of correct technique and a sound understanding of how we apply ourselves in Iyengar Yoga. This will enable you to progress safely and with confidence. A feature of our school is that we systematically introduce and consolidate yoga poses and concepts within the foundation level course and the intermediate classes.
Our classes do start on time so please arrive 10-15 minutes early.
For security purposes, our door is locked upon class commencement. Thank you for understanding.

75 - 90 MINUTES
For those who have completed our 10-week Foundation level course and are happy to progress, or for those who have at least 3 - 6 months (or more) yoga experience. Intermediate classes build on the foundation level course curriculum, including regular practice of shoulder stand and a methodical introduction to headstand and other more challenging poses. Our intermediate classes are structured in such a way that students can learn and progress at their own level under the guidance of an experienced teacher.
Led Practice is an opportunity to develop the skills for establishing your own practice. The teacher joins the students and performs the sequence alongside you simply calling the names of the postures. With less instruction this a wonderful environment to go deeper within.
Iyengar Yoga is well suited to Seniors as we tailor the classes to suit ageing bodies whilst utilising the support of props (such as chairs, blocks and blankets) to assist with balance and technique. Yoga can help slow down the effects of the ageing process by maintaining muscle tone and flexibility, keeping the mind alert and awake, encouraging relaxation and strengthening muscles and joints.
Our Gentle Yoga classes offer a slower more gentle pace than our regular classes. Gentle Yoga is suitable for everyone and may be of particular interest to those who have restricted movement either from injury or age. Our approach is to slow the pace down, go gently and offer support through the use of yoga props where needed.
Restorative yoga is an antidote to our modern, busy and often stressful lives. We utilise yoga props to support the body in various postures enabling a deeper, quieter and calmer experience, thus enabling the nervous system to unwind. This class is appropriate for students of all levels except absolute beginners.
This class is currently not on offer although we will be including restorative sessions within our regular intermediate classes and our workshops.
